About the team behind this review
An independent editorial resource that reviews FP Markets for readers in Australia, written and checked by people who do not sell trading accounts.
Costs at our partnerWhy this site exists
A reader in Sydney opens a comparison page, sees three brokers recommended above the fold, and does not know that two of them paid for the placement. That moment is why this site exists. We review one broker, FP Markets, for an Australian audience, and we do it on a site that takes no money for a favourable verdict.
The site is an editorial resource, not a service. We are not the broker. We are not affiliated with the broker. We do not open accounts, take deposits, place orders, hold client money or give personal advice. If you are looking for a place to trade, this site cannot be that place. It can tell you what we found when we looked.
How the broker is tested
Reviewing a broker starts with the things a reader can verify: what entity a client in Australia would actually contract with, what the product list covers, what the published fee schedule says, and what the terms say about leverage, margin and client money. We then work through the platform in practice, on desktop and on mobile, and record what happens rather than what the marketing page says should happen.
Scores are built from fixed categories, each weighted the same way for every review we publish. Cost, execution quality, platform and tools, products, funding and withdrawal handling, support, and the clarity of the legal and regulatory disclosures all carry weight. A strong showing in one category does not cancel a weak showing in another, and we publish the reasoning behind each score so a reader can disagree with the weighting and still use the facts.
We do not accept a score from anyone outside the editorial team. No commercial contact sees a draft before publication.
What a review cannot tell you
A review describes a broker at a moment in time. Fees change, terms change, entities change, and the platform you use six months from now may not be the platform we tested. We date every page for that reason.
A review also cannot tell you whether a broker suits you. It cannot judge your circumstances, your experience, your tolerance for risk or your tax position. It reports what we observed and what the documents say; the decision to open an account is yours, and it should rest on the broker's own current terms as well as anything you read here.
Testing is a sample, not a census. We cannot see every order, every support queue or every withdrawal.
What we will not do
We will not take payment for a rating, a ranking or a mention. We will not let a commercial relationship shape a verdict, and we will not remove a finding because someone on the other side dislikes it. We will not present advertising or affiliate content as editorial.
We will not claim to be regulated, licensed or endorsed by any authority, because we are not. We will not invent a licence number, a registration, an address or a contact detail; where you need to reach us, use the contact form on this site. We will not publish personal advice, and we will not tell you what to buy.
Where facts come from
Facts come from primary sources first: the broker's own terms, fee schedules, product disclosure material and the registers and public records of the authorities that supervise the entities named in those documents. Secondary sources are used only to confirm, never to originate a claim.
Every factual statement that can be checked is checked by a second member of the team before publication. Where a fact cannot be confirmed, we say so or leave it out. Where the broker's marketing and its legal documents disagree, we report the disagreement rather than picking the friendlier version.
How the site pays
The site is funded by advertising and by commercial arrangements with the broker and other parties, disclosed on the page where they apply. Money buys placement and visibility. It does not buy a score, a sentence of praise or the removal of a criticism.
Where a page carries a commercial arrangement, that fact is stated plainly and near the content it affects. Payments are kept separate from the editorial process, and the people who negotiate them do not write or approve reviews.
Pages are revisited on a regular cycle and sooner when a fee, a term or an entity changes. Each revision is dated, and material corrections are noted rather than quietly overwritten.
